A lithograph is a type of printing process used to reproduce original works of art. It is an authorized and many times originally crafted work by the artist or craftsman but does not require metal etchings like traditional prints do.  Lithographic printing is a style of printing in which an image is transferred to a printing plate, which is then covered with both water and oil-based ink.  These prints are usually signed and numbered by the artist and printed on acid free museum quality paper which increases the value of the print.
